Synthetic or Conventional Oil? Every Vehicle is Different.
Today, there’s so many types of conventional, synthetic blend and full synthetic motor oils that it really comes down to what is proper for your vehicle. The difference boils down to protection, performance, compression restoration, cleaning, oil consumption and economy. It’s not all based on simply keeping your engine lubricated. Picking the wrong motor oil could cause your vehicle to need more maintenance than usual and unwanted expense.
Another decision is what your needs are? While conventional oil is cheaper, problems may arise if you live in an area of extreme weather change or dusty roads; this can cause grime build-up. Severe driving conditions are better served with synthetic oil or synthetic blends, as most contain self-cleaning treatments. Other types such as high mileage oil are specifically recommended for vehicles with over 75,000 miles.
